**A few of my tenants surrounding health/fitness.
## Environment
- Keep things around you that help you reach your goals. Get rid of stuff that doesn’t.
- If something tempts you and you can’t control yourself, put it away or throw it out.
## 3 Fundamentals
- Being healthy means eating good food, exercising hard, and sleeping well.
- Eat sardines. Low biomagnification. There are 3 main Omega-3s we need and fish have 2 that aren't readily found in other things: EPA and DHA.
#### Food
- We are made of and fueled by what we consume, so consuming quality food is the first step to maintaining a quality body—which is foundation for a quality life.
- Food is neither good, nor bad, it's the dose makes the poison.
- Prioritize protein!
#### Exercise
- There are 4 main movement patterns that everyone should be doing: squat, hinge, pull, push.
- Movement is medicine. You don't use it, you lose it (recovery just take so much longer).
#### Sleep
- Sleep is the most important recovery opportunity we have.
## How to Make it sustainable
- Make it fun! Set goals, try new challenges, play pickup sports, sign up for a race. Try new activities to keep it exciting.
- You don’t have to be perfect. Doing your best is much better than doing nothing. Pick a plan you can stick with.
- You won’t look like a superhero or a bodybuilder. You’ll look like you! Everyone’s body is different, and that’s okay. Love your body and work with it.
- You might start exercising to look better, but you’ll keep going because it makes you feel good.
## General
- Most people, even your loved ones, want to see you fail because it makes them feel okay about not trying. Prove them wrong. Give them a reason to change.
- We will be who we believe ourselves to be.
